Poor Delane…I had to ship back my carpet with templates I made out of old charts so the carpets could be recut to fit my particular ship. I know Tom had to customize his too, but he had access to someone locally who could perform the alterations needed.
I think a better way for Safari to supply the carpet is if they wait until the builder can make templates like I did as soon as they have the console and aft kick panel installed. This is still about a year before they need the carpet, and this way it’s made correctly the first time. Just a thought.
But after all that back and forth, the carpet looks amazing!! Nice finishing touch for sure. Another thing I want to do is to see if someone locally can sew in some heel protection like you see in cars. Some people use an aluminum plate Velcroed in place, but I would like a nicer finish, if possible.
