Brief Description:  Pod Trim

I’ve been taking the panel off the pod several more times than I anticipated when I closed it up, but I think this should be it. As you might imagine, the edge of the pod takes some abuse and tends to get dinged up a bit. I always intended to install an edge material on the pod, but I didn’t want to keep taking it on and off. I’ve been rooting around in the pod chasing down and ringing out wires that have lost their labels, over the many months of the build. I have successfully identified each outstanding wire and since I think I’m done in there, I went ahead and installed the edge molding.

One thing I didn’t think of, and I promise you there are many, was the fact that I would have a black panel and a black edge treatment separated by the red color of the pod. I absolutely hate the way this looks. The inside of the pod really should be black too.

After thinking about how I could possibly paint this small section black after everything is already installed, I decided to simply remove the edge molding and install black vinyl adhesive backed sticker material on the inside edge. It’s a very flat and prepared surface, so it should actually work well. We will see….the vinyl is on order.
