Brief Description: Replace Manifold Elbow and Manifold Gauge Elbow Nu
During the summer, I had a couple of really nice guys come down from Sacramento to see my helicopter. They had just ordered one to build, and they wanted to see mine up close. One comment they had was the surprise that I used a nylon elbow on the manifold to connect to the E-Mags and manifold gauge. I really had no defense other than, “Well, that’s what they sent with the kit, and the manifold doesn’t get that hot, so it should be okay.” After thinking about it, and after I cracked the same elbow nut on the gauge side, I decided to swap it out with brass. It is SO much better, and the connection is a million times more secure. Thanks guys!
This is a good example of how you need to stay flexible during the construction process and never think that you always have the best or only solution to a problem, or potential problem. I know about 1% of what I need to know about this process, so I would like to think that I’m always open to another perspective.
