I cut out the aft panel and made the first bend that will eventually be located under the floor panel. Unfortunaltely, while trying to test fit the panel, I discovered that the right side kick panel and the pilot side panel do not fit in a satisfactory manner. I spent awhile trying to determine if I could adjust or modify the panels, but I have determined that I have to remake both.
This is a reflection of the sequencing recomendations of the old Safari construction manual and the new manual I just received. The aft panel should have been fabricated earlier nd used as a control point. I have ordered more material and have come to grips that I would need to go backwards for a few days.
I postponed the aft panel until I could remake the right panel so the fit could be perfected. I am really happy how the new right panel came out, and it is clear that I'm much better at sheet metal work than the first day I began.
