Brief Description: L-Elev: Rivet spar and start trim tab construction
I rivetted the re-enforcement plates to the elevator spar with a wet layup. I also rivetted E713 and E714 together with a wet layup .... just to get those out of the way until I start priming everything.
I thought I'd then carry on with the trim tab... I cleco'd the trim tab spar on the lower web and then cleco'd the E717 and E718 Trim tab horns to the skin (the trim tab horns as supplied with the electric trim servo kit don't need trimming as per the plans)
Drilled all holes using the trim tab horns as guides. I then uncleco'ed the spar from the skin as it was much easier to try and clamp the hinge to it as per the instructions. Measured an aligned the hinge as described and then drilled it using the holes in the Trim Tab spar as guides.
Re-cleco'ed the trim tab together, including the hinge. Double checked all the alignments and measurements and then match drilled all remaining holes.
