Brief Description:  R-Elev: Rivet skin to understructure

Fortunately, I managed to get a bit of pro-seal from a friend of mine this afternoon which enabled me to continue with the elevators. As per the rudder, I again used a long dowel and twirled some pro-seal around the tip and carefully placed it where each of the stiffeners meeton the inside of the trailing edge. Once again, it worked like a charm and in no time at all, I had the trailing edge all pro-sealed up.

I then cleco'ed the skin to the understructure. Vans method as described in the plans to get the counterweight in is definitely recommendable as I had ommitted placing the counterweight in prior to cleco'ing it all up. Not wanting to take the whole thing to peices again, I "co-erced" the counterweight into position but it was nigh on impossible. I did finally succeed (being very carefull not to damage neither the weight nor any other part of the elevator). It would'a been much easier to disassemble it all though and then follow Vans method - I'll do just that left elev.next!

I then started by rivetting the skin to the spar and then moved to the in- and outboard ribs. The pneumatic squeezer once again made short work of the whole process. I also managed to use all solid rivets, even at the extreme trailing edge of the ribs, by using the "No Hole"yolk.
