Brief Description:  First flip in an RV-8 --> PHWOAAR

What is it about RV's that everyone involved in them just seem to be awesome people.

Being father's day, I was spending the day at home with the family when I received and text message on my cell wondering whether I was currently working on my RV. It was from an RV'er (Andrew Hurst) whom I'd thus far only once had the opportunity to chat with telephonically (fleetingly too) but had yet to have the pleasure of meeting him. He lives in my area, built and flies the RV-8 ZU-RVB. A truly immaculate aircraft which, if I may say so, is lovingly maintained. One thing led to another and in short order, Andrew and I were sipping coffee and chatting away in my shop as though it had happened multiple times prior!

Not much later, Andrew suggested we take a trip down to the field and go for a flip... what more could you ask for fathers day! The net result was we dragged the whole famn damily down to the field (a 20 min drive) and I got to experience the ride of my life! If I had any doubts about the RV-8 previosuly, they were vanquished in no time flat. This aircraft is incredible and the unbelievable handling quality through the entire flight envelope simply blew me away. It's one of those things that you can't explain... you have to experience it for yourself! I truly thought, that as a previous Grumman owner and having read a gazzillion reports, I could have a fair idea as to what the handling would be like. Well, words fail.... I had no clue... unbelievable!!! :O

'Scuse me... I gotta get back to the shop!
