When I started planning for installing the Landing Gear switches, I discovered that the current Instrument Pannel was to thick to mount the switches. Instead of counter sinking the switches, I decided to replace the old instrument pannel with a New Aluminum pannel. I used 6061-T6 .090 Aluminum. I removed the old pannel leaving 1" Lip all around. I then cut out the new pannel and fitted it. Then drilled and counter sunk the mounting points. I used fasteners and maching screws to mount the new pannel. Once everything is installed I will remove the Pannel and have it Anodized.
