Brief Description:  Lower longerons/Fwd fuselage structure.

For the last day or so, I've been wondering why my lower longerons didn't look right, and found I'd had a masive 'Muppet' moment(made a stupid mistake). And I went into massive brain fade.

Let me explain.
In the contents list with the wing kit, it lists 'fuselage longeron bundle' and then lists two angle sets, one the upper longerons and the second a smaller gauge set of three angle 12ft long. The second set I thought were the lower longerons, two for the fuse behind the cockpit to the tail and the third was cut in half for the fwd lower longeron labeled F843. Even though these three lengths were of a much smaller gauge than the upper longerons, I didn't question as the upper longerons had been given an F number(even though they were just angles). I assumed Vans had done the same with the three other angles.

So I ended up twisting the thinner angle as per plans(the photos of these have been removed and text amended.) But they didn't look right, too long, and the pics on various logs confirmed that something was seriously wrong. I couldn't find anywhere that said to cut the third smaller angle for use as the fwd lower longerons. I spent a day or so trying to figure out what I was doing wrong and too embarrassed to ask anyone, because I felt I'd made a blant and obvious mistake that I should never had made if I'd paid attention.

Finally, I started looking through the parts supplied by Vans, to find that the lower longerons are actually supplied prebent, precut in the kit. So I twisted these and opened one end up as per the plans, and I'm a happy bunny now, now that I've figured out what I was doing wrong. But I'm really annoyed with myself for being so stupid!

This log isn't really here a an update, more as a warning. If your gut tells you something is wrong. ASK somebody! There are no stupid questions! If I'd asked it might has saved me two 12ft angles. These are fairly soft and pliable so I might well be able to save them, but I might not, It is better to ask and not make the mistake in
