1) Case assenbled but not tightened up. Tiral fitment.
2) Here I have to find out the total shim set to use for crank end play, and the flywheel has to be installed. So here it is. the actual measurment is internal between the crank aft bearing cheek and the opposing case bearing boss. Any engine has to have this and other types of spaces set to values that will allow enough oil film to form between the two surfaces to prevent actual metal to metal contact. Not really complicated once one studies it a bit, but one still has to be picky with it otherwise, as it is said in the electronic field.." the smoke got away!" and I have NEVER been sucessful with recapturing the original smoke to put back. Replacement smoke is, in some cases...this is one of them... really expensive!
