Van's outboard wheel pant supports are made of thin strips of aluminum riveted to the glass. I'm not convinced they'll stand up to the rigors of grass, and they won't fit the James fairings without major modification, so I tossed 'em and made spacers instead. A short piece of steel tube welded between two steel fender washers makes a nice spacer to fit between the axle nut and hte pant, and spreads the contact load over a much larger area, which should reduce fretting and wear.
