Finished installing rudder except for having correct size bolts. Ordered the correct bolts from Aircraft Spruce. Fit bearing bushings. Measured rudder movement angle. set angle to +/- 20 degrees according to the drawing specs. Constructed a cardboard template to see what a widening of the rudder chord would look like. The chord would remain as is at the top but widening about 10" at the bottom. This will reduce the stress on the rudder bearings since the bearings are at the bottom and about 13" up from the bottom. Wider chord near the rudder bottom would keep aerodynamic loads closer to the bearings.
