After several years of considering building my own aircraft and reviewing specs of various Van's models as well as a few others, I finally settled on the RV-12 in April 2008 and placed my wing kit order a few days after the kit was made available. The RV-12 more than met my flying needs given that most of my flights are local, VFR recreational flights with a few short cross country flights. Van's planned addition of lights and autopilot are appealing as well and will definitely be options I will pursue.
