Welcome to my RV7-A Web site. I obtained a private pilot license in 1980, added instrument rating and commercial certificate in 1987 - 88, and have been flying for pleasure and business since then. About 3 years ago, I ran into an old friend I hadn't seen for a few years, found out he was building an RV8-A, started helping him on a fairly regular basis, and was bitten by the bug. The bite was confirmed by taking a "free" $50,000.00 demo ride at Sun'n'fun two years ago. I was at Oshkosh in 2008 at a Van's banquet, where the last and best door prize was a certificate for a Van's tail kit. I knew I was going to win it, but of course did not, but noticed that the guy who did (Jeff Point, from Wisconsin) did not seem overly thrilled. I approached him and found that he had just completed a tail for his second project, so did not really need it. After a few post-Oshkosh emails, we agreed on a price that made him some money and saved me some money, and I became the proud owner of a certificate which I soon redeemed for an RV7-A tail kit.
