Elevator lower gap seal |
|
|
Now that the elevator is bolted down and will stay mounted, I decided to work on the lower gap seals which are aluminum. I cut them to fit the contour of the elevator, drilled and tapped the holes in the fuselage longeron and dimpled the seals. I then cut the edge off the rubber seal and mounted the seals. I still need to install 4 plate nuts but will need riveting help. The fiberglas faring does not fit well so I had to a section out of the leading edge to get it to sit semi-flush. It's going to take some work to get this looking right. |
