Began wiring the transponder. I had to stop after I discovered that one of the holes in the connector would not capture the pin I tried to put into it. Went to skycraft and purchased some items including #20 awg wire, sort of pink in color, which I used to make power wires for the SL30 and PMA 8000b. I installed those power lines being careful that they are in the correct pin holes. The SL 30 was pretty simple, it was pin 1 on each of the connectors. Also installed ground wires for the SL30 using #20 awg black wires. ICOM responded to my email telling me that the molex terminals are available for $1.71 each. Begore I got that email I posted on VAF a request for information about a source of the terminals. Stein Burch has them in stock. I emailed him for a price but did not hear from him. It does not seem like much accomplished for almost 7 hours of work. I am moving along, although slowly. |
