21 April 07 – 2.5 hours Drilled the starboard canopy roller rail. Cleaned up the rail using a maroon scotchbright pad and sandpaper. Polished it with Harley metal cleaner and polish, and installed it. Then I realized that I had forgotten to install the roller mechanism. Then, I realized that the roller mechanism should be painted before being installed. So, I disassembled both roller mechanisms and painted them with a coat of primer followed by a coat of Rust o leum machine gray paint. I also worked on the countersinks for the slider rail. I did most of it by hand, working slowly and carefully. I installed the #6 screws on the slider rail as far back as I could reach. |
