I removed the left side top mounting strip and cut off the end at a place that I had marked it before. I then made a new piece to fit between the left and right top mounting strips. The purpose is to create a solid strip where the fasteners will mount. There was a joint at that location before. I installed the new piece and drilled on. I also fabricated three braces to secure the area of the baggage door so that the firewall will not move while I fit the cowl. Cut the oil door hole in the top cowl.
