Began wing skinning. |

Today I jumped into the foray of skinning this bird! I had one sheet of 4x12 aluminum that wasn't corroded by rain water so I began with that. I cut it in half and then created the leading edge in one of the pieces. This is done by taping a 1 1/2" PVC pipe at 17" back from the edge. Then bending the edge over and sealing it with duct tape. Then a shop vac is applied to the pipe and the aluminum is sucked into the pipe; forming a perfect 90 degree leading edge at just the right spot. It worked pretty slick! |
