Today I worked on riveting the right and left elevators. As I placed the stiffners in position I decided to cleco the forwad spar on to check the fit. The instructions don't tell you to check this, but I wanted to ensure the stiffners were the correct size. Four of the stiffners needed a little work. Well worth the time and energy to check because it was easier to fix them before getting ready to rivet the spar in place. After riveting the stiffners I built the suggested bending brake to form the trailing edge of each elevator. Building the brake was easy enough but forming the edges took longer than I thought it would. After forming the trailing edge I clecoed the forward spar to check the alignment. It appears to look like the instructions. I guess I will know for sure when I start riveting everything together.
