I got HS-404 and HS-405 ribs match drilled and clecoed in place on the left HS. I then spent the rest of the time match drilling all the holes on the left HS-601PP skin - wow that's a lot of holes! Drill a bunch, move a bunch of clecos, drill more, move more clecos. Tags: empennage, horizontal stabilizer I finished up match drilling the left HS - all that was left was to match drill the holes from HS-702 to HS-710 and HS-714. Then I completely disassembled it (put it together, take it apart, put it together, take it apart...). All rib-to-spar holes were match drilled. I have heard of folks having trouble getting holes to line up with the protective film still on the inside of the skins, so I decided to go ahead and remove it - it's tough! There were a few patches of what I thought was corrosion, but some brake parts cleaner and a rag took it right off. I think it was poorly adhered adhesive. A few hours later, we have a completely match drilled right HS! |
