Brief Description:    Getting ready for the big move to the hangar
Today was spent getting everything ready for the move to the hangar tomorrow. I finished up most of the little things remaining that I wanted to do. One thing I wanted to correct was the wheel pants. It seems that when I installed the wheel pants, I leveled them with the tail on the ground and not in the flying attitude. I noticed this when I had the plane leveled for weighing; the wheel pants really looked stupid with their aft end sticking up like they were. To fix this I shined up a piece of aluminum and glued it to the wheel pants and then re-drilled the four holes on the in-side part of the wheel pant (the outside hole was still correct). In the end I actually like this better because the aluminum provides a more rigid connecting point and it actually looks pretty good. Plus, now the wheel pants don’t look so stupid in the regular flying attitude.

To get ready for the move, I built a ‘wing carrier’ that fits in the back of our F-150 that has a flat area which fits the contour of the wing. I lined this flat area with some old carpeting to keep the wing protected during transport. When strapped in, the wing is very secure.
