Started assembling Forward Fuselage |
|
|
I started assembling the forward fuselage tonight (sheet F12), after I fabricated another upper longeron. When I originally fabricated this part in March, I screwed up and made the slots too long. Also, since I plan to make the canopy open towards the front, I'll need both longerons to have the slots in for the latch, so BOTH longerons were wrong. Called a local aluminum supplier and they told me they had 10' of 1" X 1" x .125 6061 angle in stock. Unfortunately, when I got there they only had 9' - not enough to remake both longerons. So tonight I remade the left one, and began drilling and clecoing the left front fuselage assembly. I should be able to get more 1" x 1" x .125" angle Wednesday or Thursday. |
