Today I received my ELT; Model E-01 from ACK Avionics. I really wanted to install the E-04 (the 403 MHZ model), but I ran out of time waiting for it to be available - plus I didn’t mind saving $400 either. Installing the ELT was simple; however, the cable from the ELT to the remote was premade and I didn’t want to cut it and put a new end on the wire, so I have an extra 5 feet of cable stuffed behind the panel. Also, the ELT came with a 5 foot antenna coax that I had to replace with a 10 foot cable. Picked it up at Radio Shack. I still have to get one battery for the ELT and test it.
