Canopy re-install |
|
|
Yesterday I picked up my new AeroVee engine, fuel sender unit, and the replacement canopy and placed an order with Sonex for the StratoMaster Enigma. I have been playing around with the Enigma Simulator program and I think I’m really going to like the Enigma. It does it all. Today I inventoried all the parts with the AeroVee and everything was there, and nicely packed. I’m not sure when I’ll start putting the engine together; probably in a few weeks. Once the inventory was done, I started fitting the new (replacement) canopy. I thought I had everything all laid out and it would be easy to install, but that’s not the case. Having the flip back frame adds a couple of extra variables so it's taking longer than I thought it would. One new thing I tried with this canopy that I think works pretty well is I use a cut-off wheel in my Dremel tool to cut the canopy. It really melts through the material and once I peel off the ‘slag’ the edges don’t look too bad. |
