Framed up the horizontal stabilizer. It builds very similar to the vertical stab - just took a long time. When skinning the port side, I made sure that the skin was with the top side up, but forgot to make sure that the frame was top side up - drilled about 20 holes before I figured this out. Fortunately, I think the top and bottom have the holes in the same place so I should just have a head start when I skin the starboard side. Since I want to install the fiberglass tips, I left about the outer most 12" of the skin clecoed. When I skin the starboard side tomorrow, I'll connect the elevator hinge to the port side hinge and use the starboard elevator hinge to properly position the hinge on the starboard side stab. Sounds simple, but will it work? |
