Flying Lesson #12 Really had an embarassing incident today. The past few lessons had all been on the same runway, number 35, which (when landing on final) has the taxiway to the left (west) parellel to the runway to the right (east). Today, the wind was out of the south, so we used runway 17 instead. On the first landing attempt, I came off the downwind leg into a nice base leg and then turned into final all lined up on the 'runway' to the right like I had been doing the past few weeks. Only the 'runway' to the right was of course the taxi way. I was lined up perfect for the taxi way. I really don't know if I would have noticed it or not before landing (of course my CFI corrected me long before I did that). The pretty much threw off my entire day after that. Felt like such a dumba$$. Bet I won't do THAT again.
