Brief Description:	Primed all fiberglass parts (but cowl)
Today I went to the local body shop where I had my '36 Chevy painted and he said to do all the fiberglass parts (except the cowl) would cost between $500 - 700 to be sanded, primed and painted. Unfortunately, that's a little more than I want to spend, so I came back home and began sanding and priming. I spent the whole day sanding and priming the wing tips, horizontal and vertical tips, and the wheel pants. In the end I think they look pretty good and are about ready for paint. The quote I got to just spray the paint and clear coat was between $200- and 250; much more to my liking. So in the end, spending the whole day sanding and priming saved me somewhere between $300 and 500 - not a bad hourly wage! If only I would have thought of this before I spent the ~$150 on paint that looked like crap. I think I'll spend another hour or two tomorrow on these just to make sure they are PERFECT for the painter. All-in-all, I think the quality of the fiberglass parts was pretty decent. Many of the seams needed a little work, but not that much. Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with the fiberglass parts included with the Sonex kit.
