Brief Description:	Cracked Canopy
I drilled the 603 canopy side skins and did some final fitting. Next I started drilling the canopy, left side rail first. Moved to the right side and drilled the remaining holes from rear to front along the rail. On the last hole, I heard a big "POP". There it was - about a 3 1/2 inch crack from the just drilled hole upward. I had my fears since I had seen the right side bulge when I first started on the canopy. It seemed like too much tension to pull it in to the side rail. I can put my entire hand under this bulge, but only the very tips of my fingers on the other side. Anyway, damage done. I talked to Van's and sent photos and ordered a new canopy. They were gratious enough to give me a little discount. Could be a couple of weeks before it is ready to pick up.
