As a second task for the night, I completed the basic attachment of the counterbalance rib and the top rib. These were duly added to the rudder spar and then final drilled. It is interesting to envisage why a part such as the top rib is made the way it is. I can only assume that it is as a consequence of the proximity of the two flanges at the trailing edge. Otherwise I would have expected a single piece to be used. |
