Torqued tank attach angle bolts |
|
|
Only was able to do a little tonight until I get a rivet buddy and finish the top skin rivets. In the meantime, I torqued the bolts between the spar & the tank attach angles to 23 in. lbs, (20-25 per spec for AN3 bolts). Also fiddled with the Dynon autopilot roll servo a little, tighteneng and torquing some of the bolts, and safety wiring some in place. Leaving a few untightened until after the bottom skins are in place, since the servo and/or the linkage may make it difficult to buck some of the bottom skin rivets. I used # 10 NAS Machine Screws on the inboard tank attach angle since the holes were a little close to the vertical leg, and the 5/16" heads could be torqued with a socket, while the 3/8" heads on the AN3 bolts could not. The NAS screw material is about 165,000 psi in tensile strength, which is a little higher than the AN3, so should be OK. |
