Built dimpler work surface |

Ordered a 3x rivet gun from Avery late today along with some other bits and pieces, a few sets for the gun, back riveting plate (backordered, which is OK for now, I won’t need it soon), seaming pliers and 12 inch long #30 and #40 drill bits. Due to New Years Eve being a holiday for Avery, the stuff won’t ship until Wednesday the second. I built a support surface around the C-frame dimpler from some 3/8” plywood I found in the garage and a couple of 2 x 2’s from Home Depot Aircraft Supply House. It turned out pretty well; it’s lightweight and has some plastic grass mats to support the sheets. This made it easier to finish dimpling the HS skins, except for a few near the leading edge, which will have be done with the hand squeezer if it ever gets here. I also can’t dimple the rib flanges until the squeezer gets here. |
