We were out of town on vacation for a week after the ailerons were finished, so could not do any more until the 19th, and I am out of town (OSH!!) again on the 23rd. From time to time when I would get a little time, I pulled out all the flap parts except the top skins and stripped the plastic covering, deburred the edges, and started sanding/scotchbriting them, getting ready for the initial assembly. There is still an aluminum angle bracket to be fabricated that joins the end plate for each flap, maybe I will cut them out after OSH. I wanted to get the end plates bent to the specified 6.3 degrees before leaving town, so clamped them one at a time between 2 boards, put them in the vise with aluminum angle lining, and did the deed. Uneventful. |
