Finished right aileron |
|
|
Worked on the right aileron at several different times over the last several days. After the usual assembly, drilling, disassembly, deburring, dimpling, and priming, I was ready to start assembly for the last time. Got the top skins riveted to the spar, except for the 4 in the center. Got Joyce to help me with a few of them, but did not get them all. This morning our Beautiful Granddaughter Stephanie, whom I have started calling Rosie (for which I get a blank stare), was over, so I enlisted her to drive the last 4. Those have to be driven before anything else can be done, since once anything else is riveted, you can't get your arm inside the assembly to buck them. After finishing the top skin riveting, I worked on and off between other chores for the rest of the day finishing the assembly. Also placed the two rivets that had been left out of the left aileron behind the hinge brackets. Put them on the shelf and then cleaned up the bench which had gotten pretty cluttered during the aileron construction. On to the flaps. |
