I followed the template just as instructed and measured along the top so I would keep the same distance from the edge of the instrument panel and made some marks. Then I followed up with laying down the tape. I bought some nice 3M 471 vinyl tape (way too expensive), but wanted to make sure it was good quality. Everything seemed to work out well...or so I thought.
