Dimpled holes in retaining strip to accept nutplates and flush rivets. Enlarged the screw holes in the strips using the 5/32" drill bit. Deburred, cleaned, and primed strips. Drilled out the screw holes in the plexiglass with a 5/31" drill bit. Countersunk the plexi holes for the dimples in the skin to fit. Riveted the 6-32 nutplates to strips using AN426AD3-3.5 flush rivets. Attached strips to inside of lens using thin two-sided tape. |
