Well this is about it for the hat shelf project for now. I got the rear panel in place and riveted. You can see it in the second picture quite clearly with the primer on. Covers the holes very well. I will say that it adds a lot of rigidity to the tailcone, I was quite surprised. This little side project may even add some additional support in a roll over. I clecoed the forward bulkhead support and my shelf rails and cross member back into polace for now. I also put the shelf on to get a good look at the final setup. Looks good! I'm leaving the final attachment of the shelf and remaining rails until the fuselage attach part so I don't have any problems with that. I can't do the forward bulkhead cover and door until that point anyway. One other thing, I weighed most of the parts as I went and figure this adds about 4-5 lbs to the empty weight with most of that being in the .025 sheet. |
