Spent the day grinding away the glass on the upper and lower cowling spinner rings to achieve the 1/2 inch gap behind the spinner. Shaped the ring to be a true circle. Sanded/blended the cowling into this new ring. The results are better than expected for fit. There are some blemishes that will need filling/sanding, but that is a minor issue. Still more work to match up the area outside of the spinner ring along the mate line between the upper and lower cowl. The hard part of this modification is behind me now.
