Once the forward portion of the HS is drilled and secured, the next step is to set the angle of incidence for the HS. Van's plans call for a 3/16" spacer underneath the rear HS spar and the aft deck. I found that in order to achieve the desired 0 degrees incidence, I required 9/32" instead. I contacted Van's about this and they said that you need to put whatever spacer underneath that will do the job. At this point, after confirming the measurements several more times, I drilled the rear spar of the HS to the F-711C bars.
