So much done, for so few photos! There was a lot of on/off with the canopy to get it all done. - Used the holes in the pilot-side strap to locate the holes in the frame. - Pilot drilled the holes in the frame, updrilled them, and deburred them. Photo 1 shows the assembly before updrilling. - Updrilled the holes in the canopy and cleaned the edges with the deburring tool. - Added the exterior slide handle (photo 2). - Added the slot in the canopy (photo 3) for the slide handle. I didn't quite finish cleaning it up, so there's still some more to do. I made the slot by drilling multiple holes side by side, then cleaning up with a fle and sand paper. - To add the slide handle and do some of the other frame cleanup I needed to take the whole canopy frame off the airplane, so that's the state it's in right now. |
