Hydraulic Brakes |

I thought the brake handle would have a lot of travel distance. It turns out it only has about 2" maximum of travel. So I found I was going to be leaning forward the whole time I was using the brakes. So I modified the handle to make it shorter, and to bring it to a more vertical position, and closer to the pilot (closer to the flap detents). This is what I did... Looks funny, but when in the plane nobody will notice, and it will work well. But this new arangement was not going to work for a parking brake, There isn't enough travel for the handle to come back to the flap detent that I had been using to hold the mechanical brake. So I am going to do something with a wire and a hook, that will hook onto the detent angle when parked. Stay tuned... |
