Left gear leg fairing (1 of 2) |
|
|
Since I had to cut off a fair bit of the top of the left fairing, I made a full-size paper pattern of the fairing. - I then wrapped the pattern around the gear leg (photo 1), aligned the edges, and taped them together. Then I would make a mark at the top, indicating how much I thought I needed to cut off. - Photo 2 shows the pattern (at the bottom of the photo) of the top of the fairing. I used that to make the shape of the full size fairing pattern, correct. - In photo 2, the strips above are the methodical pieces I cut off the top of the full-size pattern. - Photo 3 shows the full size paper pattern beyond (folded around the gear leg), and the paper pattern of the top end of the fairing, in the foreground. See page 2 of 2 for more descriptions and photos (KitLog may have put these two pages out of order). |
