Fitting gear to fuselage |
|
|
I want to be able to take the engine mount on/off until I'm ready to hang the engine, so I temporarily put on the gear and the wheels (bearings not packed with grease until I put them of for good) so I can begin to work on the brakes. The brake guides (photo #3) need to have the hole enlarged in the upper section. Thinking the guides were symetrical, and mirror images of one another, several weeks ago I drilled them out. Come to find out they are not symetrical, and are not interchangeable from right to left. And so of course I drilled out the wrong end on both. So I spend some quality time on the drill press drilling out the other sides, starting with a narrow bit, then working up to the final size in steps. Then I put on the axle assembly and the wheels, temporarily. |
