Axle assemblies |

|
- Drilled a 3/32" pilot hole in the axle assembly, for use later when drilling through it, and the titanium gear legs. - Used a sacrificial section of steel pipe (photos #1 & #2) given to me by Max Emmighausen, to bolt on the cable guides (which come flat) and use a rubber mallet to bend them around the pipe, to get the correct 5/8" radius. The result is photos #1 & #2. - In the bending process some of the paint cracked and flaked off, so I sanded off the loose stuff, cleaned the surfaces, and prime painted those areas. - On the axle assembly the tabs for the brake drums have a weld at one end that interferes with the nut that needs to go there, so I used my Dremel tool to carve out the fillet weld until the nut would stil flat (red pen is pointing to the area in photo #3). - Again I prime painted the area and will add black paint afterward. |
