Whiskey compass install |

|
I bought a non-TSO'd lighted compass from A/C Spruce, and mounted it on the glareshield. It's lighted, so I wired it to the same switch that turns on the LED cockpit light. I really didn't want to run a dedicated ground wire for it, so I grounded it to the airframe. That's the ONLY thing in the aircraft that is grounded to the airframe. Everything else has a dedicated ground wire to the firewall ground block. I have not logged for several days because I went to the Sonex factory at OSH to take T-Flight (transition flight) training. I got 5 hours of tailwheel Sonex time, which was a great confidence booster, but also a requirement from my pending insurance company. |
