Install transponder |
|
|
Per last night's notes, I attached the transponder power lead to the right location. :-) Then I installed the transponder in the panel. I need to hook up the static line to the unit. The static line from the wing and to the EFIS (which also needs a static hookup) is 0.25" I.D. Tonight I just noticed that the fitting on the transponder is for a tube with an I.D. of 0.125", or half of the other line. Damn. Now I need to get some skinny tubing and a Tee fitting that has 2 different sizes. Photo 3 is what the underside of the panel looks like. Not very pretty, huh? I have so much of it neatly bundled and held with wire ties ever 4" to 6", but no matter what I bundle and where, it seems like it won't stay orderly. I feel like ever time I look at what's there I need to UNbundle, repath, and REbundle. But even when I do, that all seems wrong, too. I'm not sure how to make this neat and get it all tied up. Photo 3 is the continuing saga of the fuel tank vent. I keep putting on layers of JB Weld so that it all gets smoother on the outside, and then at some point I will have enough material to trim and sand it all smooth without getting down to the bare metal. Once I have that, then I can prime and paint it. |
