- There is not enough space between the cowl and the lip of the fuel pan, to fit nut plates. So I ordered Tinnerman nuts instead. Since they stand proud of the surface that they are attached to, I used the cutoff wheel of my Dremel to shave away the fiberglass by the thickness of the nut (photo 1), so that it rests flush with the surrounding cowl. - Photo 2 shows all 3 recessed and in place. - Photo 3 shows the fuel door in place with 3 screws.
