Rudder skin polishing |
|
|
- Worked on setting up a polishing "booth" around my work table. I've done this before, but I wanted to make it a little more refined, and easier to take down and put up. So I put duct tape along one face of all 4 edges of each plastic drop cloth to keep the edges from tearing, and to give something sturdy for securing to the ceiling with more duct tape (photo #3). The plastic extends over the table top, and then I have an 8' long piece of masonite over that. I do all the polishing on the masonite. Without it, the polishing wheel would tear the plastic every time it went off the edge of the piece, while polishing. - Polished the rudder skin with the F9 polish (photo #1). - My plan is now to polish every wing, control surface and fuselage skin I have, before moving onto the rudder. That's going to take a LOT of polish, and a lot of time. So probably no construction for a while, until the polishing is done. |
