Making my back riveting plate |
|
|
I bought a piece of flat bar stock measuring 18" long, 5" wide and 3/8" thick. I used my belt sander starting with 60 grit to break the surface and flatten any irregularities. I worked from 60, 80, 100, 120 and finished with 150 grit. I then switched to my random orbital sander starting with 120 grit and working up to 220grit. Lastly I used my palm sander using 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper til I had a mirror finish. I waxed the surface to prevent rust. |
