Have decided to prime - prior to assembly. General opinion is that the aluminium doesn't need priming. If the ship moves to the coast, I think I would feel more comfortable - Belt and braces! Factory recommends Chemspec 8823 - a single step self etch primer - Phoned the factory in Durban - there is also another 2k 8051/ 8052 primer - has more acid and etch. This is a two part catalytic paint. If prepared and cleaned properly the single phase should be fine. Factory uses benzene as a degreaser
